Happy New Camera Day!

I just bought a sweet new Canon Rebel T3i. I'm sure there are people out there who aren't fans of this camera, but I think it is pretty awesome. I can't wait until it arrives!  I was actually able to purchase a package that included things like two additional lenses, a case, SD card, tripods, and more. I think I am set to take this new camera on our upcoming vacations. Now if I can just learn all of it's intricacies before we head to Jamaica in December!

Homemade Pizza Night

Tonight was homemade pizza night.Yes, we just had homemade pizza with the Cokers last night, but we had the ingredients to make these amazing pizzas all over again. With plenty of Ryan's homemade tomato pizza sauce, plenty of cheese and toppings, and enough ingredients to make the homemade wheat dough, we figured why not. These pizzas are so tasty and we hadn't made them in so long, we forgot how much we love them. I think this will become an Alexander household tradition!

Fun Night with The Cokers

Last night we had The Cokers, Matt and Taylor, over for dinner in our new home. They are our first guests, other than family, to come and hang out. We served homemade, made to order, pizzas comokete with homemade wheat crust, homemade pizza sauce and a variety of toppings. We had sauted peppers, purple onions and mushrooms. We had spinach, artichoke hearts, and pineapple. We had pepperoni, chicken, and canadian bacon. We had a little bit of everything! Each of us made up out own pizza and then we all shared when they came out of the oven. We made everyone some of our favorite Dark and Stormy drinks and Matt and Taylor brought some awesome artichoke and jalapeno dip with carrots and bread. They also brought a bottle of wine and what is now one of my new favorite beers, Mama's Little Yella Pils. They also brought homemade brownies, although with all of the other foods, we didn't quite make it to those.

After dinner, we headed up to the media room and reclined out while watching the Olympics and Tosh.0.

It was an awesome night and we can't wait to have them over again soon!

Teri-Yummy

These Island Chicken Skewers were super simple and super tasty. I just cut big pieces of onion and orange and yellow peppers and added them to bamboo skewers with pineapple chunks and teriyaki marinated chicken. Ryan threw them on our cast iron grill to sear them off and then into the oven to bake for about 15-20 minutes. We de-skewered the ingredients over a bed of brown rice and topped it with a little bit of teriyki marinade. So simple, so yummy! We will have to make these again soon!
