Sloppy, Sloppy Joes Y'all

Ryan ate four sloppy joes for dinner. Yes four. That is all.

Rest In Peace Teddy

Today I found out that a longtime friend of mine, Teddy Brock, was shot and killed last night. This picture is from his wedding which was just 9 months ago. Unfortunately, the police don't seem to have any leads on his killer. The news report was short. "Dallas homicide detectives are investigating the death of a 26-year-old man found gunned down Monday evening in a South Dallas home. Officers responding to a 911 call found Laquinton Brock at about 7 p.m. at a home in the 1600 block of Hatcher Street, near Lamar Street, police said. He was taken to Baylor University Medical Center and pronounced dead. Investigators are looking for witnesses to the crime." My prayers are with his wife D'Andre, who I had the pleasure of working with, his adorable son Terry and his baby that will be born 6 months from now, Taylor. No one deserves to die this way. These children don't deserve to not have their loving father around. No child deserves to be born having never known their father. He was a friend to many and will be sorely missed by all. Rest in Peace Teddy.

Rosa's Mondays

So on Mondays, Ryan and I always go to Rosa's for dinner and then go grocery shopping. Even though it was raining, we had a good night. Rosa's was pretty empty tonight so it seemed brighter and louder than usual, but the food was amazing, as always. Mmm...Rosa's! We're so glad they opened in Coppell!

Another Night of Trivia at BWW

Ryan and I will often go to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner and to play Buzztime Trivia. Tonight we figured out that we could use our new iPhones as the remotes to play. Ryan kicked my butt in the two games we played, but we had a good time. There was even a guy there who tried to do that Hot Wing Challenge where you have to eat 12 really hot wings without any drink, sauce, napkins or anything in 6 minutes. He made it through 2 wings and gave up. Ah well, it was a fun night anyway!

Movie Night with the Mos

So Ryan and I had our good friends Mike and Amanda over for dinner and a movie last night. Amanda brought us this cute stuffed rat baby. Seeing as how we have three adorable pet rats, she knew it would go over well. We ended up cooking out burgers and fries and then settled in to watch Star Trek. Ryan and I have seen it a couple of times, but Mike and Amanda hadn't. I think they both ended up enjoying it more than they thought they would.

It was great to see them and Amanda is almost three moths pregnant now. It is crazy how quickly the time has passed. I am sure if it has passed this quickly for me, it must seem crazy fast to them. Anyway, we can't wait to find out if MiniMo will be a boy or a girl so we can shop for him/her and buy some cute baby things. Ryan and I aren't quite ready to have children, so it is great to have friends who are having babies. It's so exciting!

Break-In

So Ryan and I woke up this morning to find out both of our cars were broken into. And to think I was worried that I would have nothing to blog about. It looks like someone was just rifling through looking for cash or something. Not much was stolen. Oddly enough, I had a small ceramic boot that was a leftover decoration from a nonprofit fundraiser I helped with, was stolen. They also stole some silver change. so in total they broke in to take $2.00 and a ceramic boot. At least they didn’t smash in the windows or anything. They actually were able to unlock both cars somehow. Anyway, it was kinda freaky. Hopefully now that whomever it was knows that we don’t keep wads of cash in our cars, they will stop coming by.

Starting a Blog Lifestyle

I really want to start focusing on capturing special moments in the life of our family. After having waited in line for 5, yes 5, hours for the new iPhone, Ryan and I both now have the capability to take some good on-the-go pictures as well as some HD video, I really want to start documenting some of our fun times together. Admittedly we don’t have the most exciting of lives. Also admittedly I am horrible at keeping up with a blog. But, even if no one else reads this, I want to have some memories of when I was first married to share with my children one day. So, here’s to me once again committing to start documenting my life with the love of my life.
