Texas Pinball Festival 2012
This year was our second year in a row to head to the Texas Pinball Festival (TPF) with Mike and Amanda. They invited us last year and we had an awesome time, so of course we went back this year. It was another fun time. We got to play quite a few pins, especially as the crowds thinned out later in the night. I really enjoyed playing the Twister and the Star Trek pins. But, as always, my favorite part was people watching. There are quite a variety of people who attend this event. It is cute to see the fathers playing pinball with their kids. There were even families who lugged around stepping stools so that their smaller children could play the machines. Then there were the uber geeks who were totally excited to play all the newest pins. Finally, as always, it was mostly guys at this event, so Amanda and I got quite a few stares. Ryan and I were so glad Mike and Amanda were able to come back in town from Austin for this event and we can't wait for TPF 2013!

Baby Henry!
Life has been so crazy busy, but so much has happened. The most important reason for this blog is to say that I just can't wait to meet Henry! Ryan's long time friend from high school and college just had the cutest baby ever! I don't just say this about all babies, trust me. This kid is going to be a hearbreaker for sure!

See! I told you!
Two weeks from today Ryan and I will be heading to Austin to meet this little guy. We will be taking a half day on Friday and driving down. We will be staying at Barton Creek and will hopefully have some time to play a bit in Austin. I am even going to try and get some restaurant.com coupons to use while we're there. I don't know much about the restaurant scene in Austin, but I know they have some great restaurants. I hope we can find a few!
Anyway, I am so excited for Amanda Morrison and baby Henry. I am looking forward to having a baby of my own one day. It will be at least the end of 2012 before we even consider it, but I can only hope I have a baby as cute as this little guy!

Gifts from the Mos

I absolutely LOVE getting gifts from the Mos for Christmas! They always get us the nicest things, most especially a Christmas ornament from Crate and Barrel. I was really wanting this penguin ornament from C&B, but I didn't want to spend the money for it. Around this time of year, I try to use all the disposable money we have for gifts for others. I truly enjoy giving others gifts that make them happy more than I like getting gifts myself.
Anyway, this little penguin ornament is SO CUTE! I named him Hubert. (Yes I have a pathetic habit of giving everything with eyes a name. Oh well.) He will be a great part of our family tree for many years to come.
Thank you Mos (Mike, Amanda, Zoe, Barnaby and Henry). We love and miss you much!

Mini Golf at Golden Bear
Today Ryan and our friends Mike and Amanda went to play some mini golf, excuse me, I meant some golf on the 18 hole putting course as they call it at Golden Bear. Even though I came in last place, it was a fun time. After golf we hit up the Rosa's for some great Mexican food. It was a great end to this awesome Fourth of July weekend!

Movie Night with the Mos

So Ryan and I had our good friends Mike and Amanda over for dinner and a movie last night. Amanda brought us this cute stuffed rat baby. Seeing as how we have three adorable pet rats, she knew it would go over well. We ended up cooking out burgers and fries and then settled in to watch Star Trek. Ryan and I have seen it a couple of times, but Mike and Amanda hadn't. I think they both ended up enjoying it more than they thought they would.
It was great to see them and Amanda is almost three moths pregnant now. It is crazy how quickly the time has passed. I am sure if it has passed this quickly for me, it must seem crazy fast to them. Anyway, we can't wait to find out if MiniMo will be a boy or a girl so we can shop for him/her and buy some cute baby things. Ryan and I aren't quite ready to have children, so it is great to have friends who are having babies. It's so exciting!
