Ryan's 30th
For Ryan's 30th birthday he decided he wanted to do something low key with just a few family members and friends. We planned to have a pool party after he and his friend Mike golfed all morning, but sadly we got rained out. Instead, we just met for dinner at Brookhaven after their round ended. My parents went as did Ryan's sister and Mike's wife and children. We had a great time just hanging out and chatting with one another. After dinner was over, I brought out Ryan's favorite cupcakes that I had gotten earlier in the day. Smores cupcakes from Meringue Bakery in Addison. It was a relaxed and fun 30th. Here's to the next decade!

One Source Here We Come
After a few years working at ClubCorp, Ryan has just accepted a job as a HCM Implementation Consultant with One Source Virtual. They are an excellent, up and coming company and we are very excited to be a part of their growing family. I think that Ryan will really like his new job and we are very excited for this new chapter in his life!

I'm so proud of Ryan! We just got back from Austin where Ryan ran the Austin Half Marathon. He hasn't been able to run much lately with all of the long hours at work, homework, class and selling the house. But, he shaved around 10 minutes off of his time from the last time he ran a half. Also, he said it was the hardest course he had ever run, what with all of the hills in downtown Austin. I am super proud of his committment and dedication to this sport. Until the next race...

Take Me Out
Saturday was the Interstate Batteries day at the Ranger's game and family was allowed to come! Interstate allowed employees to sign up for tickets. We got free tickets that were shaded seats, free all you could eat food (hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, nachos, popcorn, peanuts and sodas), and a parking pass and $5 to spend. It was awesome! Ryan and I each had two hot dogs and soda, shared nachos and popcorn, and he had peanuts. I used my $5 to get a small scoop of ice cream and Ryan got a beer. What a deal! Even though the Rangers lost, just barely, to the A's, it was really a fun baseball Saturday!

The Big 2-8
Today was Ryan's 28th birthday. He didn't want to do anything grand. He simply wanted to stay home, to order from his favorite pizza and wings place, to watch Firefly and for me to make him his favorite cake (yellow cake with chocolate buttercream). A pretty simple night, but I have to admit that with as much as we have going on in our lives, it was a nice change of pace. Happy Birthday Ryan! I love you!
