Ryan's 30th
For Ryan's 30th birthday he decided he wanted to do something low key with just a few family members and friends. We planned to have a pool party after he and his friend Mike golfed all morning, but sadly we got rained out. Instead, we just met for dinner at Brookhaven after their round ended. My parents went as did Ryan's sister and Mike's wife and children. We had a great time just hanging out and chatting with one another. After dinner was over, I brought out Ryan's favorite cupcakes that I had gotten earlier in the day. Smores cupcakes from Meringue Bakery in Addison. It was a relaxed and fun 30th. Here's to the next decade!

Ryan's 29th Birthday
Yesterday was Ryan's 29th birthday and we had such a fun day! We started out by visiting Taste of Dallas at Fair Park. We ate and drank and had a great time with my parents. We had things like banh mi, which is a Vietnamese sandwich, cinnamon roasted nuts, gelato, and grilled cheese with shredded pork. Everything we had was amazing, but I particularly liked the banh mi, as did Ryan. After a couple hours outside in the heat, we were ready to go home and freshen up.
My parents came over later that afternoon and we got to show them our new home. My Dad had been over a few times to help with a few repairs, so he had seen most of the house, but my Mom hadn't been over since we first looked at the house when it was on the market. We gave them the grand tour and then Ryan made some cocktails for everyone.
Next it was on to Joe's Crab Shack so Ryan could have one of his favorite meals, the BBQ Crab Steam Pot. My Dad had a seafood platter, my mom had a salad, and I had a delicious shrimp trio plate. All of the food was good and the atmosphere wasn't even too bad.
After dinner, it was back to the house where we flipped on the Ranger's game upstairs in the media room and chilled out in the recliners. Then, homemade key lime pie and presents.
I think Ryan got everything he wanted for his birthday and the celebration isn't over yet. Tonight we are heading to Stonebriar Country Club for dinner with Ryan's sister. Can't wait!

Happy Birthday Henry
This weekend Ryan and I went to Austin of his friend's, son's 1st birthday. Henry is the most adorable kid and it was so much fun to share his birthday with him. Amanda, his mom, did a Sesame Street themed party because Henry loves Elmo. It was very cute and fun for all of the little kids in attendance. I have to say, I was a little bit of the odd man out as all the women had kids or were pregnant while I have none and am not. It was still a good time though, as I always love getting to see the Mos. We miss them a ton!Anyway, Happy 1st Birthday Henry! We can't wait to see you again soon!

The Big 2-8
Today was Ryan's 28th birthday. He didn't want to do anything grand. He simply wanted to stay home, to order from his favorite pizza and wings place, to watch Firefly and for me to make him his favorite cake (yellow cake with chocolate buttercream). A pretty simple night, but I have to admit that with as much as we have going on in our lives, it was a nice change of pace. Happy Birthday Ryan! I love you!

Melting Pot for Ryan's B-Day

So, for Ryan's birthday my parents took us to Melting Pot for dinner. We tend to go there twice per year, once for Ry's birthday and once for mine. We all really like it. I think I like it the most because it is really an experience, plus the food is really good. Since we went on a Sunday night, it was really quiet and peaceful. The service wasn't that great, but the food was amazing! From the salad, to the meats, to the desert fondue, it was all great! My favorite things were the fillet mignon and the white chocolate amaretto fondue. I think Ryan, as always, pretty much liked everything. It was a fun night!
